OP Response is proud to have participated in the Nawras 2025 National Oil Pollution Exercise, held in Musandamunder the supervision of the Environment Authority and in collaboration with OQ Exploration & Production (OQEP).

In addition to undertaking response operations at several locations, OP personnel were actively deployed to provide command support and technical guidance to participants at other sites, with over 25 OP members actively deployed across the exercise activities. Different response tactics and deployment formations were implemented based on incident conditions and as additional resources became available, demonstrating the proficiency, adaptability, and teamwork of OP’s planners and responders in managing evolving field situations.

The OP Response Support Toolkit (OP RST) was utilised at the Unified Command, providing essential near real time situational awareness to aid decision making and coordination among all participating entities.

As the leading, and the only 100% Omani owned, emergency response service provider, with 12 strategically located response bases along the Omani coastline, OP reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the marine environment and supporting national efforts for rapid and effective incident response.

This participation reflects OP’s ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability into real world action, strengthening national preparedness and safeguarding natural resources. Sustainability is at the core of our DNA.

We are honored to share that OP has been awarded the Gold Award—the highest recognition in the SME category—at the 2025 Oman Sustainability Week – OSW Awards.

This marks our third consecutive win (2023, 2024, 2025), a testament to our unwavering commitment to sustainability, environmental responsibility, and local impact.

From pioneering oil spill response capabilities to empowering local communities and driving In-Country Value (ICV), we remain deeply rooted in Oman’s sustainable future.

Thank you to our incredible team, partners, and stakeholders for believing in the mission and making this achievement possible.

Together, we continue to Prepare. Preserve. Protect.

OP has been named as a finalist for the Oman Sustainability Week Awards 2025—marking our third consecutive year as a contender after winning in both 2023 and 2024! Our commitment to sustainability, driven by empowerment, community engagement, and In-Country Value, continues to shape everything we do. We strive to create lasting impact by fostering inclusion, strengthening local capabilities, and driving positive meaningful environmental and social progress. Sustainability isn’t just a goal for us—it’s embedded in everything we do. Looking forward to the awards ceremony in May!

Oman Sustainability Week (OSW) Awards 2025, co-organized by Oman Environmental Services Holding Company – “be’ah” and CONNECT, will honor organizations demonstrating outstanding sustainability practices during the highly anticipated event on 11 May 2025.

The awards leverage the Oman Sustainability Index, which evaluates organizations based on their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. This framework serves two key purposes: providing a structured assessment platform to help organizations integrate ethical and sustainable practices into their strategies, and reinforcing the long-term commitment to economic, social, and environmental responsibility. Developed in collaboration with be’ah’s exclusive partner, the Center for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE) in Chicago, Illinois, the index follows the globally recognized Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard.

Beyond recognition, the index helps organizations identify medium- and long-term sustainability opportunities and risks, ensuring they stay committed to their ESG goals while enhancing transparency and accountability within their industries. Participants will also receive detailed feedback reports post-event, offering performance insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

We closed 2024 with a strong commitment to sustainability and giving back to our community. As part of our environmental initiatives, OP, in collaboration with the Environmental Emergencies Centre at the Oman Environment Authority and the Oman Beaches Protection Volunteer Team, organized a beach cleanup at Azaiba Beach, Muscat.

The cleanup saw enthusiastic participation from volunteer teams and community members, focusing on removing plastic waste and other pollutants that threaten marine ecosystems. Healthy beaches and coastal areas are essential habitats for diverse plant and animal species. By keeping them clean, we help protect marine and terrestrial wildlife, birds, and native species, fostering a healthier environment for future generations.

At OP, we remain committed to our social and environmental responsibilities. We will continue working alongside our partners to promote sustainability, protect marine life, and make a lasting impact on our community. We hope this initiative inspires more environmental action and community participation in the coming year.
